In the present invention, there is disclosed a method for the synchronization of the internal clock of a mobile radio terminal device with the local time, characterized in that the mobile radio terminal device sends at time ti0 a short message (SM) that is conducted via a so-called Short Message Service Center (SMSC), and here each message is provided with a time stamp tiZ which, in turn, is indicated to the receiver of the message. The mobile radio terminal device registers the sending time ti0 of the short message(SM) as well as the time of acknowledgment ti1 of the short message and therefrom derives the time tiM=(ti1+ti0)/2, wherein tiM corresponds approximately to the point in time of the time stamp tiZ. The mobile radio terminal device extracts from the received short message (SM) the time stamp tiZ, compares it with tiM, and corrects the internal clock by the difference tiD=tiZ-tiM. |
