An organic electroluminescent display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to perform a clear image by blocking a light leakage in an edge of an active region through a light leakage preventing pattern. An organic electroluminescent display device includes a substrate(100), an encapsulation substrate(220), a seal line(230), and a light leakage preventing pattern(240). The substrate is divided into a pixel region(I) and a non-pixel region(II). An array layer is formed on the pixel region of the substrate. The array layer includes an organic light emitting layer and a thin film transistor. The encapsulation substrate is bonded with the substrate. The encapsulation substrate includes a moisture absorbent(225). The seal line is formed on the non-pixel region in order to bond the substrate with the encapsulation substrate. The light leakage preventing pattern is arranged between the seal line and the array layer. The light leakage preventing pattern is made of metal having an optical reflection property.
