Calculation of standard deviation for frame erasure rate measurements using adaptive multi rate codecs on a per codec type basis

It is described a method for calculating a Standard Deviation Value for measurements of the Frame Erasure Rate for a speech transmission using an Adaptive Multi Rate codec procedure for a predefined observation period and for a given Adaptive Multi Rate codec type. The method comprises (a) determining a preliminary Standard Deviation Value for measurements of the Frame Erasure Rate for a predefined period of a Control Channel, and (b) calculating the Standard Deviation Value for measurements of the Frame Erasure Rate for the given Adaptive Multi Rate codec type and for the predefined observation period based on the preliminary Standard Deviation Value. It is further described an equipment of a mobile telecommunication network, a computer-readable medium and a program element, which are adapted for performing and/or for controlling the above described method.
