A remote measuring system capable of measuring environmental variation around a railway power line is provided to reduce danger of an electric shock accident by measuring and monitoring environmental variation of a railway power line at a remote area. A variation detecting device(100) detects environmental variation around a railway power line. A data collecting device receives environmental variation information from the variation detecting device. The variation detecting device includes an environmental detecting part(110), an input processing part(120), a remote communication part(140), a control part(150), and a power supply part(170). The environmental detecting part detects environmental variation information around the railway power line. The remote communication part transmits the environmental variation information to the data collecting device which is at a remote area. The control part controls transmission of the environmental variation information from the environmental detecting part to the remote communication part. The input processing part converts the environmental variation information into data.
