A control method for soaking tableware with steam in a dish washer is provided to improve washing efficiency extremely and reduce the amount of washing water used in washing. A control method for soaking tableware with steam in a dish washer comprises following steps. Whether signals for performing a steam soaking function from a function selection button are inputted or not is determined(S10). In case the signals are inputted, the water feeder is turned on(S20) and washing water is supplied to a sump(S30). When the washing water is completely supplied to the sump, the water feeder is turned off(S40) and a main heater is turned on(S50) and temperature is maintained(S60). The main heater is turned off after predetermined time(S70). The water feeder is turned on(S80) and the low flow rate of the washing water is supplied to the sump(S90). The water feeder is turned off when the sump is filled(S100).
