A method for providing defect position matching of a panel transferred on a conveyor is provided to improve matching of defect position by using a visual encoder and a line scan camera. A method for providing defect position matching of a panel transferred on a conveyor comprises a step of storing an image of 1 frame in an image buffer(S110), a step of obtaining a 1 line image in an X coordinate calculator(S120), a step of calculating the position of pixel where the active area of the 1 line image starts when the active area has a periodical pattern(S150), a step of updating the X coordinate of the corresponding line in a coordinate table for image lines(S170), a step of obtaining an image of 1 block in a Y coordinate calculator(S200), a step of extracting the position of pixel where the active area of the 1 block image is repeated when the active area has a periodical pattern(S230), and a step of updating the Y coordinate of the corresponding line in the coordinate table for image lines(S250).
