FLAT PANEL DISPLAY DEVICE

A flat panel display device is provided to emit a light totally reflected in a boundary between a substrate and an air to the air by forming a phase-denaturalized region on a non-display region. A flat panel display device includes a first substrate(100a) and a second substrate(100b). The first substrate includes a pixel region(P) and a non-display region. The first substrate is a glass substrate. The second substrate is bonded with the first substrate. A phase denaturalized region(160) is formed in a part corresponding to the non-display region inside the first substrate. The phase denaturalized region has an optical property different from an optical property of a different part of the first substrate. The phase denaturalized region changes a path of a light totally reflected in a boundary between the first substrate and an air.
