A microwave absorbent and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to show excellent microwave absorption properties even in GHz band owing to the single domain of an individual particle. A method for manufacturing a microwave absorbent comprises: a first step of preparing a precursor solution containing a metal oxide precursor and polymer; a second step of field-radiating or field-spraying the precursor solution in order to manufacture a nano-sized fibrous or particulate metal oxide precursor/polymer composite; a third step of heat-treating the metal oxide precursor/polymer composite to eliminate the polymer; and a fourth step of heat-treating the polymer-eliminated metal oxide precursor in order to crystallize it.
