A noise reduction apparatus for a transformer is provided to block a noise inside an external case of a transformer by forming an air layer between a sound insulation plate and the external case of the transformer. A noise reduction apparatus for a transformer includes a sound insulation plate(20). A ratio of a horizontal length and a vertical length of the sound insulation plate is 1. An edge of the sound insulation plate is coupled in a brace(14) by a coupling unit. The brace is formed on an outer surface of the external case(12) of the transformer. An air layer(21) is formed between the external case of the transformer and the sound insulation plate. Thickness of the air layer is 125~240mm. A buffer material(28) is arranged between the sound insulation plate and the brace. At least one handle(22) is formed on an outer surface of the sound insulation plate.
