A train door monitoring device and a method thereof are provided to secure the viewing direction of an operator, blocked by a screen door system, by installing one or more platform systems. A train door monitoring device comprises: a plurality of door systems(100a ~ 100j) installed between a railway line and a screen door, taking a picture about the opening and closing situation of the train door and transmitting; and one or more platform systems(200a,200b). The one or more platform systems are installed at a front or tail of the platform in order to receive and indicate an image about the open-and-close action situation of the door transmitted from a plurality of door systems. The platform system checks an obstacle and normal condition of the door by comparing the image before the door is open and another image after the door is closed.
