An apparatus for monitoring shear operation is provided to improve work efficiency and productivity by solving problems generated due to the malfunction of a shear in a rolling operation. An apparatus for monitoring shear operation comprises a driving signal determining unit(70), a controller(80), a storage(90) and a display unit(95). The driving signal determining unit is connected to a shear driving part(60) and read control signals applied to the shear driving part and determines place and subject applying the control command and outputs result data to the controller. The controller stores the result data with input time in the storage. The controller displays the result data on the display unit to inform an operator on a real time basis.
