Class 75(i) A wick mounting for an annular wick of a blue flame burner comprises a bracket having means to engage the exterior of the wick at diametrically opposed points and a portion extending downwardly from said means and shaped so as partially to enclose and to be engaged by a wick adjusting pinion which is thereby prevented from importing lateral movements to the wick. The bracket is alternatively described as having members for making frictional engagement with means carried on the wick exterior and a channel-shaped component adapted substantially to enclose an adjusting pinion which engages slots formed in one wall of said component. Fig. 3 shows a bracket 18 having an upper semicircular portion providing curved arms 6 terminating in lugs 7 for engaging. in sockets 10, Fig. 2, carried by the wick 1, and a downwardly extending channel portion 11 adapted substantially to enclose a wick adjusting pinion 14 which engages slots 13 formed in one wall of the channel for raising and lowering the bracket 18 and the wick 1 without lateral displacement thereof.
