A preparation process of an olefin polymeryzation catalyst is provided to ensure high activity and high apparent density through more simplified process and to prepare a olefin polymerization catalyst which is not easily pulverized in a manufacturing process. A preparation process of an olefin polymeryzation catalyst comprises the steps of: dissolving magnesium halide in alcohol; adding organic silane to form a magnesium compound precursor; reacting silica carrier, titanium compound and the magnesium compound precursor to form an olefin polymerization catalyst; and separating and drying the olefin polymerization catalyst. The formation step of the olefin polymerization catalyst and magnesium compound precursor is carried out in the presence of hydrocarbon solvent.
