A damage detecting device of a complex structure and a method thereof are provided to reduce errors in the damage detection by setting a rotation angle of a striker uniformly for repetitive test. A damage detecting device of a complex structure includes a fixed die(100) for fixing a complex structure(T), a striker(130), a striker force sensor(200), an accelerometer(300) mounted to the complex structure, a vibration signal analyzer(400), and a damage detection unit(500). The striker is rotatively mounted to the fixed die for applying impact to the complex structure. The sensor measures force applied by the striker. The vibration signal analyzer computes the natural resonant frequency of the complex structure by receiving input signals from the striker force sensor and the accelerometer. The damage detection unit determines the damage to the complex structure by comparing the computed natural vibration frequency with a preset one.
