A system and a method for setting up an RTC(Real Time Clock) receiving current time information are provided accurately to count the effective period of the contents to which a DRM(Digital Rights Management) is applied even when an error occurs in the time information of a contents terminal device by connecting to an external network through a communication device. A contents terminal device(100) requests the resetting of time information, and a communication device(200) connects a contents terminal device to an external device through an access line formed by message exchange processing. A time information providing server(300) transmits the current time information to the contents terminal device.
