An interface control device of an optical disk drive and a method thereof are provided to prevent error between a personal computer and an optical disk drive from being generated in a recognition process by resetting interface reception sensitivity level through squelch level reset operation. An interface control method of an optical disk drive comprises: a first step for performing system setup operation in case an optical disk drive(100) is turned on; a second step for resetting interface reception sensitivity level after the system is set up; and a third step for performing a recognition process with a host in case the reception sensitivity level is reset.
