The method involves actuating a brake (10) utilized for rotationally blocking turning elements e.g. turbine wheel, of a turbocharger, while the pressure of oil in an oil system (12) of an internal combustion heat engine is lower than a critical pressure. The brake is not actuated, while the pressure of oil in the oil system of the heat engine is higher than another critical pressure, where the latter critical pressure is equal to the former critical pressure. An independent claim is also included for an assembly for implementing a turbocharger controlling method.
