The vehicle has an inflatable safety cushion (20) deployed between a rear side of a control panel (5) and a front side of a brake pedal during impact or deceleration. The cushion is fixed on a lever arm of the pedal situated between a pivoting axle and a support base (26) of the pedal, where the cushion has maximum extension limited by distance between bottom of a control panel and top of the support base.
