<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for imaging an invariant light spot with large area. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for imaging an invariant light spot with large area comprises a light emitter, a light-restrictive module and a sensor. The light-restrictive module is placed in front of the sensor and contains a plurality of light-restrictive devices. The light-restrictive devices are arranged in a one-dimensional or two-dimensional array. The light emitter emits light towards the surface of the object and produces scattered light. The light-restrictive module restricts this scattered light and produces diffracted lights. The diffracted lights interfere one another, create a plurality of array-invariant light spot images, and form an image on the sensor. Finally, the array light spot images are reformed and thereby an invariant light spot chart with large area is obtained. The light spot chart is an invariant light spot image with large area. Since the light spot chart records the characteristics of three-dimensional changes on the surface of the object, the apparatus for imaging invariant light spot with large area can be applied to a computer mouse, finger navigator, smart card, three-dimensional fingerprint recognition device, machine tool, system for precise positioning of machine arm, or the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
