<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform cooperative operation between both a monitor device and a set top box satisfactorily even if the monitor device for performing video display and the set top box for transmitting a video signal to the monitor device through a prescribed interface are configured to be bodies different from each other. <P>SOLUTION: The monitor device (12) transmits a vender command of a CEC (consumer electric control) including a code related at least to apparatus information by a CEC line (101), and the set top box (11) uses a vender command of the CEC including the code related at least to the apparatus information to perform transmission.
