PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce deterioration of a transmission rate between thrust force and tensile force under high-temperature use conditions by improving an elasticity modulus of a width direction of a sailcloth layer as a result of devising a raw material of the sailcloth layer of a tension band. SOLUTION: In a high load transmission V belt, a monofilament with 200 dtex or more is used as a single yarn in a width direction of the tension band 10 and upper and lower sailcloth layers 14, 15 of the tension belt 10 are made up by using woven fabric crowded with 30,000 dtex or more per 5 cm of whole cloth.
