The crosslinkable composition comprises an acrylic polyol wherein the acrylic polyol comprises at least 40 percent by weight of at least one linear or branched C8 or higher alkyl acrylate monomer and at least one polyester extended acrylate monomer. The coating composition is suitable for use as a basecoat and can be used in a 3-wet paint process that eliminates the primer curing booth.
