The cell (10) has a membrane element (30) arranged between electrodes (21, 22), where one of the electrodes comprises a current flow plate. A flow channel runs in an external surface of the current flow plate, and a reactant is guided through the flow channel. The current flow plate has a micro-reaction chamber that is arranged in the external surface and at the flow channel. A catalyst is arranged in a part of the micro-reaction chamber such that the catalyst contacts the membrane element and the reactant. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a current flow plate for an electro-chemical fuel cell.
