<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multimerization polypeptide conferring formation of multimers when the multimerization polypeptide is linked to a molecule (e.g. a heterologous polypeptide sequence). <P>SOLUTION: A manipulated polypeptide sequence mediating the formation of oligomer(s) (e.g. dimer, trimer, tetramer, pentamer, hexamer, and higher-order oligomers) in between molecules each bound to a polypeptide sequence is provided. In one aspect, a method for making a multimerization polypeptide conferring formation of multimers and including one or more 7-residue reiterated sequences (a, b, c, d, e, f, g) is provided; wherein the method involves a step of modifying a polypeptide including the 7-residue reiterated sequence(s) (a, b, c, d, e, f, g), wherein one or more sites of (a) and (d) is substituted with leucine or isoleucine, thereby making the multimerization polypeptide conferring formation of multimers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
