<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for determining a user's actual touch position, even when a foreign material is caught in a resistive film-based touch panel. <P>SOLUTION: An input device has an input resistive film-based touch panel. Touching of the touch panel is detected, along with the touch position and a determination is made as to whether the touch has been made by a foreign material. If the touch is determined to be by a foreign material, the touch position is saved as the position of a foreign material. After a determination is made that the touch has been made by a foreign material, the touch position detected is corrected using the previously saved position of the foreign material, and the user's actual touch position is calculated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
