PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anisotropic permanent magnet motor for reducing cogging torque with reduced thickness. SOLUTION: A rotor 8 of the anisotropic permanent magnet motor includes an anisotropic permanent magnet 2. The anisotropic permanent magnet 2 has an orientation direction 9 in a direction normal to the outer-peripheral surface in a range ofθr°/2 from a magnetic pole center to both sides and continuously inclines toward a magnetic pole end from a direction normal to the outer-peripheral surface. When an angle per pole of the anisotropic permanent magnet 2 isθp°, an angle of one cogging torque period isθc°, and a maximal value of the cogging torque in a range ofθr/θc≤ä(θp/θc)-2} is an allowable maximum value of the cogging torque,θr/θc corresponding to the cogging torque value equal to the allowable maximum value is determined.
