PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filament winding apparatus capable of simplifying the processing of winding a filament round a tank without redoing the winding of the filament to the mouthpiece part. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1, which rotates the tank 2 and winds the filament round the outer peripheral surface of the tank 2, has the cap part 32 that is placed to cover one side face in the rotational axis direction of the tank 2, the filament pressing part 33 that is fitted to the cap part 32 and presses the filament on the outer peripheral surface of the tank 2 in the state wherein the cap part 32 covers the one side face of the tank 2, and the cap moving mechanism 34 that advances/retreats the cap part 32 to/from the one side face of the tank 2 and enables the cap part 32 to be freely attached/detached from/to the one side face of the tank 2.
