PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to determine the location of a landmark which is on his/her mind by recalling his/her past memories. SOLUTION: The navigation apparatus has a control section 2 comprising a microcomputer which controls a location detection section 7 for detecting a current location, a map information storage section 10 for storing map information, landmarks, and their related information, an input section 11 to input destinations, landmarks, and their related information, and a display section 3 for displaying maps and their related information. The navigation apparatus includes a temporary storage section 14 which, when a destination is not input through the input section 11 within a predetermined time after navigation is started and a starting point is detected by the location detection section 7, detects cruising information comprising a date and time, current location, and their related information at every predetermined time by being controlled by the control section 2 and temporarily stores the detected cruising information.
