PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compositions containing a ruthenium (III) complex and a heterocyclic ring and their medicaments for the treatment of cancerous diseases. SOLUTION: A composition (A) which is obtainable by reacting a compound having general formula (I) M<SB>3-n-p-2pr</SB>[RuX<SB>6-n-p-q-2r</SB>B<SB>n</SB>(H<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>p</SB>(OH)<SB>q</SB>(O)<SB>r</SB>]<SB>2r+1</SB>with a compound having general formula (II) B'(HX')<SB>s</SB>is disclosed. A composition including a composition (B) which is obtainable by blending a compound having general formula (III) (B'H)<SB>3-n-p-2pr</SB>[RuX<SB>6-n-p-q-2r</SB>B<SB>n</SB>(H<SB>2</SB>O)<SB>p</SB>(OH)<SB>q</SB>(O)<SB>r</SB>]<SB>2r+1</SB>with a compound having general formula (IV) MX' and a heterocyclic compound is disclosed.
