<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve input operability and convenience when inputting handwritten characters to an image in a desired format. <P>SOLUTION: A user draws a guide line 103 while an image is displayed on a whole display screen 101 and sets the guide line 103 as a horizontal ruled line or a vertical ruled line. A cut-out frame 104 is displayed on the whole display screen 101 and an image in the frame is enlarged on an enlarged display part 102. On the enlarged display part 102, a part of the image displayed on the whole display screen 101 is enlarged while two characters and three character intervals are maintained. The user inputs handwritten characters to the enlarged display part 102.
