PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve following accuracy by suppressing vibration of a recording medium caused in the direction of rotary shaft of the recording medium, reducing disturbance of air stream generated around the recording medium, and facilitating the following of a magnetic head for a recording track on a storage medium. SOLUTION: The storage device has a storage medium 3, a spindle motor 2 for rotation-driving the storage medium, and a head 4-1 for recording and reproducing a signal for the storage medium. The device also has a shroud 6 for suppressing displacement of the rotary shaft direction of the rotatry storage medium, the shroud has an opposite plane opposing to the storage medium in a contactless manner, and the opposite plane has a vibration generator 6-2 driven in the direction of rotary shaft direction in accordance with an external control signal.
