PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find a cancer marker which is superior in sensitivity with respect to a cancer, and to provide a method of detecting cancer based on the cancer marker and a kit for detecting the cancer. SOLUTION: In a humor analyte, all or a part of protein of the DLD (dihydrolipoamide dehydrogenase) or an antibody to all or a part of the protein is detected; and if the detected value of the protein or increased detected value corresponding to the amount of the protein or antibody is larger than the standard detection value, or if it is detected despite no detection in the standard, these are set as index for the existence of the cancer or progression of the cancer, determined immediately or temporally for a subject.
