PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection device capable of detecting a malfunction quickly and maintaining the reliability of the inspection device always, and to provide a program and a recording medium for the same. SOLUTION: The inspection device includes an inspection circuit 1a for inspecting an apparatus 2 being an object to be inspected, an inspection circuit control means 1e for controlling the inspection circuit 1a, a self-diagnosis means 1f for performing self diagnosis of the status of the inspection circuit 1a through the medium of the control means 1e, and a self-diagnosis condition setting means 1g capable of setting or changing the timing of execution of the self-diagnosis for performing the self diagnosis, and the self-diagnosis of the inspection circuit 1a is performed at a self-diagnosis execution timing set in the setting means 1g. Moreover, the timing of execution of the self-diagnosis can be made to be the timing of inspection finish of one apparatus 2 being an object to be inspected, the timing of inspection NG, a timing when the inspection device in an idle state, or the like, and the contents of the self diagnosis can be changed due to the contents of the inspection NG.
