SUBMERSIBLE PUMP ASSEMBLY

An electric submersible pump assembly and method for artificially lifting fluid from a well bore to the surface. The assembly comprises a twin screw pump (3), a permanent magnet motor (2) for driving the pump and an electro-mechanical cable (1), the electro-mechanical cable being capable of suspending the pump and motor in a well bore and of supplying electrical power to the motor, wherein the permanent magnet motor (2) is located between the cable (1) and the twin screw pump (3).
