<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-generating reaction apparatus having a function of separating a solid from a gas, in which the interference of the gas, which is generated by a reaction of a metal component with an alkali, with the residual solid to be precipitated after the reaction is prevented so that the reaction is performed continuously while separating the generated gas from the residual solid in high efficiency and which is made compact as a whole. <P>SOLUTION: The gas-generating reaction apparatus, in which a metal component-containing raw material is reacted with the alkali in a liquid to generate the gas, includes: a cylindrical reactor body (40) arranged vertically; and a screw (41) fixed in the reactor body (40). The reactor body (40) has a raw material inlet (43) and a gas outlet (54) in the upper part thereof and a liquid outlet (60) in the lower part thereof. The screw (41) has a vertical shaft part (51) and a spiral blade (56) fixed to the periphery of the vertical shaft part. A spiral reaction chamber (57) extending in the vertical direction is formed in the reactor body (40) by the spiral blade (56).
