<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance in a sealing device while simultaneously achieving improvement in sealability and reduction in sliding torque being conflicting characteristics, in the sealing device composed of a combination of a lip seal member and a ring member. <P>SOLUTION: This sealing device is composed of the combination of the lip seal member 11 installed in one member among relatively rotating two members and the ring member 21 installed in the other member. The ring member 21 has an installation part 21a fitted to the other member and a plane part 21b integrally molded in a machine outside end part of the installation part 21a. The lip seal member 11 has an installation ring 12 fitted to one member and a seal lip molded by a rubber-like elastic body 13 laid on the installation ring 12 and slidingly brought into close contact with the ring member 21.
