<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a matte type glossy printed material like a silver salt photography. <P>SOLUTION: A method for laminating is adapted to form an image on a printing medium 14 by the thermal transfer process, and form an image protection layer 15f on the image formed on the printing medium 14 in such a manner that an irregular pattern is formed on the printing medium 14 by selectively applying thermal energy to a heating element 18c on a thermal head 18. A heating element row 18f on the thermal head 18 is divided into heating element groups 18e at random for each printing line of the printing medium 14, each heating element group having two or more adjacent heating elements 18c. The same thermal energy is applied to the heating elements 18c forming each heating element group 18e.
