PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming device which overlaps images of each color on a transfer belt, performs deflection correction of the transfer belt and color resist correction to measure a resist mark (test image) after forming the resist mark on the transfer belt and correct the forming position of each color image according to the measurement result, and prevents inclusion of color shift amount due to moving of the transfer belt in the correction amount of the color resist correction. SOLUTION: Control of the deflection correction is stopped and the color resist correction is performed after performing the deflection correction of the transfer belt before performing the color resist correction and the running state of the transfer belt is stabilized.
