PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image heating device capable of stably rotating a belt even in a case where a lubricant is applied to the internal face of the belt. SOLUTION: The image heating device includes: a pressure roll 14 and a tension roll 15 that suspend the belt 731 and apply rotating force to the belt 731; a belt separating mechanism 75 that brings the belt 13 and a heat roll 11 into contact with each other and separate them; an oil application member 735 that supplies a lubricant to the internal face of the belt 731; and a belt drive roller 17 that applies rotating force to the belt 731 by coming into contact with the external face of the belt 731 when the belt 731 separates from a rotation body.
