It is intended to provide an absorbent article by which stuffiness between a barrier sheet and the skin can be prevented and thus the wearer's skin can be prevented from a rash and so on. A diaper (1) which comprises a liquid-absorbing chassis (2), a barrier sheet (3) and leakage-blocking cuffs (4). The barrier sheet (3) has side sections (30, 31) facing to each other in the widthwise direction (X) and an intermediate section (32) connecting the side sections (30, 31). The intermediate section (32) is located below the crotch area (9). The side sections (30, 31) and the intermediate section (32) constitute together front-back connecting sections (33, 34). In the side sections (30, 31) located outside the intermediate section (32) along the widthwise direction (X), cuts (41) are formed. The cuts (41) are formed respectively by cutting the sheet from the outside in the widthwise direction (X) of the peaks (39c, 40c) in the elastic member of the barrier sheet toward the both side margins (42, 43) constituting the outer sides of the side sections (30, 31) along the widthwise direction (X) to form V-shapes.
