A speaker (20) is integrally formed with a multi-layered printed circuit board (21). The printed circuit board (21) includes a flexible membrane layer (30) with a conductive pattern (32) thereon. Positive and negative elements (34, 36) are disposed on opposing sides of the flexible membrane (30). A drive circuit (18) connects to the flexible membrane layer (30) and applies current to the flexible membrane layer (30) responsive to an audio signal to generate audible sounds.
