#CMT# #/CMT# The machine (1) has a set of functional modules e.g. display unit (3), a card reader (4), a monetary items output unit (6), a printing unit (7), a monetary items cartridge (8) and a transport unit (10), arranged in a housing (2). A wirelessly operable communication interface is attached to one of the modules. The interface is designed as a wireless universal serial bus (USB)-interface (11) with a transmission/receiving part for performing unidirectional or bi-directional data transfer to a computing unit (5) or an external computing unit (12) e.g. personal digital assistant (PDA). #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Vending machine i.e. automated teller machine (ATM) (claimed), for inputting and/or outputting a monetary item i.e. note. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The design of the machine simplifies wireless data transfer from and to the functional modules of the machine, enables wireless data communication between the computing unit and the functional modules of the machine without changing architecture of the functional modules and/or the computing unit.
