PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray image diagnostic system whose operability is free from the influences of external environment such as the brightness of X-ray irradiation room, etc. and the system's X-ray irradiation area can be set up by a simple operation. SOLUTION: The X-ray image diagnostic system includes an X-ray source to irradiate a subject with X-rays, a movable X-ray aperture to restrict the X-ray irradiation area, an X-ray flat panel detector placed opposite to the X-ray source to detect the X-ray having penetrated the subject, a movable X-ray aperture range setting means arranged at the side opposite to the X-ray incidence plane of the X-ray flat panel detector, and a controller making cable or wireless communications with movable X-ray aperture range setting means or movable X-ray aperture to perform various controls, wherein the moving X-ray aperture range setting means can obtain the two-dimensional positional information of at least the places touched by the operator to control the X-ray aperture vane positions and set appropriate X-ray irradiation area on the basis of this positional information.
