PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optical display device having excellent reliability and displaying a high quality image using light with high utilization efficiency, and to provide an electronic device. SOLUTION: The electro-optical display device 100 has an active matrix device 10 comprising a plurality of switching elements 1 provided on one face side of a substrate 50; a shutter device 30 including a base body 31 having window portions 31a provided corresponding to the respective switching elements 1, movable plates 33a provided to be displaceable relative to the base body 31 so as to open/close the respective window portions 31a, and a driving means for displacing the movable plates 33a to switch between an open state and a close state; and a microlens array 20 comprising micro lenses 202a provided corresponding to the respective window portions 31a.
