PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immunochromatograph method of high sensitivity reduced in the noise due to the label substance present in a background. SOLUTION: In the immunochromatograph method whereby a substance to be examined and a label substance containing a metal modified with the first antibody to the substance to be examined are developed on an insoluble carrier in the state that their composite are formed with the substance to be examined and the label substance captured in the reaction region on the insoluble carrier having the second antibody to the substance to be examined to detect the substance to be examined, the non-specifically adsorbed label substance is washed using a solution containing a surfactant in a concentration of 0.8-7 wt.% and the label substance is sensitized using an amplifying liquid containing a silver-containing compound and a reducing agent for silver ions to detect the substance to be examined.
