PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detection apparatus for highly accurately detecting liquid levels even when vibrations and external magnetic fields have acted by devising constitutions of resistive elements and contacts. SOLUTION: A resistive member 5 provided with a resistive coating 5b and a plurality of comb-shaped contacts 5d connected to the resistive coating 5b and a contact unit 6 provided with a plurality of comb-shaped contacts 6a for individually conducting to and contacting each contact 5d are arranged in an airtightly sealed chamber. The contacts 5d and the contacts 6a are made to conduct and open by the magnetic force of a magnet 8 fixed to an arm 3 which follows the movement of a float due to variations in a liquid level and rotates, and the contacts 6a separated from the contacts 5d are brought into contact with a cover 2b. It is thereby possible to implement a fuel level gauge 1 for highly accurately detecting liquid levels even when vibrations and external magnetic fields have acted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
