PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen detection element capable of accurately detecting hydrogen concentration even if the pressure of gas including hydrogen gas changes. SOLUTION: The hydrogen detection element comprises: a sensitive section 9 made of a metal alloy; an electrical resistance detection section 18 for detecting a change in electrical resistance generated by the dissolution of hydrogen by the metal alloy of the sensitive section 9; a pressure detection section 19 for detecting the pressure of gas near the sensitive section 9; and a correction section 17 for correcting the detection signal of a change in electrical resistance detected by the electrical resistance detection section 18 by a pressure change detection signal detected by the pressure detection section 19. Even if the pressure of gas including hydrogen gas changes and a change in electrical resistance detected by the electrical resistance detection section 18 varies, the variation of the change in the electrical resistance can be corrected by the correction section 17 based on the detection of the change in the pressure of gas by the pressure detection section 19, thus accurately measuring hydrogen concentration.
