A method and a node device of the Ethernet failure detecting and converging are disclosed. The method involves executing the failure detection to a link according to the operation, maintenance, and management protocol. And the relevant layer network protection protocol is utilized to execute the network convergence according to the type of an Ethernet when the failure of the link is detected. The node device includes a detecting module and a convergence module.
