<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizing plate provided with a transparent protective film having excellent isotropy and preventing the occurrence of knicks. <P>SOLUTION: This polarizing plate 1 is constituted by laminating the transparent protective film 2, a polarizer 3, and a birefringent layer 4 sequentially in this order. The transparent protective film 2 includes (meth)acrylic resin having a glutarimide structure.
