<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable selection of contents, while confirming outlines by means of sentences that are displayed. <P>SOLUTION: On a program list used to select programs, for which recording reservation is set, representative images are arranged vertically and displayed, and sentences representing the contents of the programs related to the representative screens are displayed adjacent to the respective pictures. The sentences are extracted from text data contained in EPG data. For example, among the sentences contained in the text data, sentences with a mark indicating that the sentences are updated compared with sentences contained in first supplied information are extracted as presentation sentences.
